Support for those struggling with addiction or                                                        taking steps toward recovery

A "nexus" is a place where things come together in a meaningful way.  GreenTree's Nexus  is a space where people who misuse substances or alcohol connect with others to gain understanding and have assistance accessing other resources  through   a supportive community setting.      Our peer supporters have walked their own personal paths to recover healthy, fulfilling lives.      They offer their experiences, their hope, and their support (which can be a broad array of things).  

Besides peer support, GreenTree offers lots of peer-led, self-help groups.  Particularly for the Nexus, we offer Seeking Safety twice a week (to support healing from trauma and its disruptive impacts) and SMART Recovery, which is a nation-wide  alternative approach  new to  our  Winston-Salem Community!
