Activities at GreenTree focus on personal well-being. The strongest tool we have for promoting this is each other--our mutual support. As peers, we can encourage each other and we can challenge each other.
We see well-being as having different dimensions. In fact, the "Eight Dimensions of Wellness" established by recovery-focused leaders and endorsed by a federal agency help to guide our activities.
These Dimensions of Wellness include Emotional, Social, Intellectual, Financial, Occupational, and Physical, and Spiritual. While GreenTree is mostly focused on its mutual support benefit, we do offer classes that fall under these dimensions. Further, we develop our calendars using community input and usually have at least one community meal and an outing or two during the month. We also have friendships with other people from Winston-Salem to share good times with!
